At last count, I have something on the order of 30+ separate universes living quietly side-by-side in my head.  Many of them haven't seen the light of day in years, and at least a few will never turn out any great publishable or even shareable works, but even so, it seems a shame to invent yet another new one and leave it to join the pile.
